The history of Codefine dates back to 1957 when Edmond Schinasi, an immigrant from Egypt, arrived in Switzerland, and founded the “Compagnie d’Echange et de Financement”, which was later abbreviated to “Codefine”. This was a personal story that links into the larger story of a period in time when innovation and creativity stemmed from the will to succeed and the desire to realize dreams of breaking through present boundaries and creating a brighter future.
Codefine quickly grew to become a prominent European player within the agricultural and industrial packaging sector, with particular success in the area of Jute bags and Hessian sacks. This success propelled the company forward, growing in size and global scale while still maintaining the same passion for excellence.
By the end of the 1970s and early 1980s, Codefine became a pioneer in what has become one of our core businesses, PP and PE packaging, in particular Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBCs) and container liners. This innovative approach, which drives our cutting-edge developments, means that we pay close attention to our customers needs, while adhering to the changing global business environment. For us, leadership means keeping our eyes focused on what lies ahead, while staying in tune with that which has brought us to this point.
